In many ways, Arctic Circle are a perfect example of what it's like to be a Bristol band right now. Some of their members are in many other groups; some aren't; but they all come together to produce a sound both exciting and idiosyncratic. Driving and rhythmic, much of their music gets you in a dancing mood, but there are no base-level disco beats here. Multi-instrumentalists to the extreme; you can be sure you'll be left with a glow in your heart and a smile on your face.

Arctic Circle has grown from the bedroom pop and electronica of Matthew Cheney into something much bigger. Even now the sunny days and backwater melodies of last year's self-titled album seem distant. The band have developed a live energy that has been captured in their new songs; nature and technology, analogue and digital, the old and the new.
