Ten Years

first show, at the here shop

first show, at the here shop

It’s 10 years since I Know I Have No Collar played their first show, at the Here Shop opening party.

Here - Grand Opening flyer

We celebrated by playing a show with the Tenniscoats on Tuesday, at Cafe Kino (just metres away from that first performance). We played our Hal Hartley set again, for those who missed the Old Vic show, and Saya joined us on ‘Ending’. DIY Voices reviewed it here.

Don’t Look Now: Cube Cinema fundraiser

Don't Look Now poster

This Friday, we’ll be performing at the Old Vic to raise money for the purchase of the Cube Cinema. It’s a special evening of acts playing and re-interpreting soundtracks from different films to enable to long-term use of Bristol’s most important venue and cultural centre. We’ll be playing sountracks from Hal Hartley films, with a number of special guest musicians, and will be sharing the stage with François for the first time since 2009, as he plays the soundtrack to Un Homme et une Femme.

Lets All Buy The Cube TRAILER – https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=TQRt11gjB0k

An epic night of musical attractions, famous OSTs, guest artists, huge orchestras and cult actors ALL upping the stakes and aiming to raise some much needed funds. All the money (barring a few essential costs) will go towards The Cube Cinema, Bristol’s legendary independent one stop culture centre, and its mission to buy the building that has been its homebase for the last 15 years, so it can proceed upon its inimitable and merry independent way.

The idea is pretty damn simple. A cluster of musicians from Bristol and beyond (but forever close to the Cube’s very heart and soul) will gather together to perform
a key Original Sound Track or selection of OSTs. Some may deviate from the original, putting their own wicked stamp on the music (The Cube has always loved a bit of doting sacrilege…), but the emphasis here is on soundtrack music that has swept these artists away, set free from its cinematic origin and given new wings on the Old Vic stage.

From simple beautiful minimalist pieces, through songs sung in French and thunderous urban sheets of sonic drama to the grand, emotional sweep of Morricone’s master works, this will be a evening of adventure, fun and passion.

New Website

Hello! Here’s our brand new website. At some point we might move everything across from the old one. Here are some pictures that Tom took of our recent recording:

3 august 2006

wow, it’s been nearly a year since this was updated, and in all that time, NOTHING has happened IKIHNC-wise!!
where’s aaron? until he comes back from canada we can’t play or release our album. in fact, the only place you can hear our new album (new as in nearly a year old but unreleased) is on the jukebox in cafe kino in bristol. it’s an exclusive!! maybe it should only be released in jukeboxes across the country…? if you want it you have to buy a jukebox!! wild.

3 september 2005

goodbye aaron!!!!!! see you in a year!!!!!!!!!!!!!! have fun in canada!
this site will slowly grind to a halt in that time, but before it does, videos and album details and photos will be uploaded, so check back soon!!!

11 august 2005

we have finished recording our album. it’s called “these are our numbers” and has somewhere between 15 and 18 songs, depending on what we put on various compilations…. it sounds good i think, it was fun to do and nice to have fránçois taking more of a role in the playing… it should be out by september on stitch-stitch records.

i’ve loaded some old MP3s onto the recordings page, including all of the covers cd we did that sold out ages ago, so you can hear some stuff there!
